The Rapture on the Last Sabbath Day of 2009

I found this article while surfing other Christian forums. Brings up some good points for considering the rapture to happen around December 26, 2009, being the last Sabbath Day of the year. This would also be a Christmas rapture, and exactually 5 years from Dec 26, 2004 when the world was shaken by the 9.1 mega Asia Earthquake

” Our Lord made a point of restoring people to perfect health on Sabbath Days ”

Even though, by doing this, He made the Jewish leaders very angry.

I believe this is because the Devil knew a Sabbath Day will come in which all those who believe in Jesus, will be instantly healed, as a direct result of receiving their glorified bodies.

For we read,

“Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years…He called her to to Him and said to her, Woman you are loosed from your infirmity…immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath…” (Luke13:10 -14)

“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth…And He said to him “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam…So he went and washed, and came back seeing…Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes…Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not of God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” (John 9:1-16)

“Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches…Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years…Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that Day was the Sabbath. The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”
(John 5:2-10)

Again we read,

“Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the Scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath…But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, “Arise and stand here…”stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. But they were filled with rage…” (Luke 6:6-11)

The scripture tells us that the Sabbath Day is a Day of rest, after working for six days.

“Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord.” (Exodus 31;15)

As long as we are in these mortal bodies we labour in sinful flesh, in sickness and disease to do the work of God.

Worshipping the Lord in our mortal bodies, is the work we do for “six days”

The work we must do in our mortal bodies is to commit ourselves to speaking the Word daily. For only those who have laboured diligently to do this will enter the rest of the Sabbath Day.

For we read,

“For we who have believed do enter that rest…There remains therefore a rest for the people of God…Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest…for the Word of God is living and powerful…” (Hebrew 4:3,9,11,12)

Again we read,

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall be changed…Therefore, my beloved brethren be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1Cor.16;51,58)

The work of the Lord in the above verse is the diligent study of the Word of God during the “six days” in our mortal bodies.

Those people that came seeking Jesus asked,

“What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” (John 6:28,29)

In other words believe and therefore speak the Word. For if a person doesn’t continuously speak the Word of God, that person doesn’t really believe in Jesus Christ.

This is the work we must continue to do until we come to the Sabbath Day, when we’ll receive our glorified bodies.

For we read,

“And since we have the same Spirit of Faith, according to what is written…we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus…” (2Cor.4:13,14)

It’s important that we understand that sin dwells in our flesh.

For Paul says,

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells…sin dwells in me…evil is present with me. (Rom.7:18,20,21)

This is why many struggle to speak the Word, even though their inward man wants to. Our inward man is enclosed in a body of sin.

For Paul says,

“For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man.” (Rom.7:23)

By spending an hour or two in the Word daily we acquire enough strength to keep our sinful flesh subdued, until the Sabbath Day of the rapture.

On that Day our sinful flesh will be destroyed and replaced with glorified flesh.

For we read,

“Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe…”My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish…” (John 10:24-28)

For in another place we read,

“…the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live…for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth – those who have done good, to the resurrection of life…” (John 5: 25,28)

There’s a strong possibility that the rapture is going to take place in winter, in December, on the last Sabbath day

Lets continue to watch for the Rapture on the Last biblical Sabbath Day of the year, the 26th of December 2009!
