Holy Knight
From RITA
He mounted his horse wearing the Armor of God,
And was immediately surrounded upon hostile sod;
The Dark Knight appeared from out of naught,
In an attempt to vanquish the Peace that was sought.
With his archers and foot soldiers standing in reserve,
The Dark Knight was confident in the god that he served;
Astride his stallion he quickly galloped to battle,
Focused only on knocking his foe from the saddle.
This was no mock battle in the Tournament of life,
No jousting event for a “fair damsel” to wife;
The Black Knight’s objective was to ransack and pillage,
To slay, destroy — then return to the village.
Although outnumbered and standing alone,
The White Knight prayed to the Heavenly Throne;
Without raising his lance or lifting his shield,
He had assured his victory before taking the field.
God intervened in miraculous manner,
Brandishing His Sword and presenting His Banner;
The White Knight witnessed with utter surprise,
The totality of the enemy’s colossal demise.
Haughtiness, arrogance, vanity, and conceit,
Were traits that led to the Black Knight’s defeat;
Valuables, possessions, goods, and treasures,
Should have been stored for Eternity– not temporal pleasures.
It may appear that Chivalry is an attribute from the past,
An antiquated peculiarity that didn’t seem to last;
But in actuality its embers still burn exceedingly bright,
In every Soldier of Christ, in every Holy Knight!
Humbly Irrelevant
